READY FOR AUGUST TO BE OVER

I'm so ready for August to be over. It has been a crazy one so far. I keep thinking if September comes, it's a new start because it's a new month.
Last week, I attend the funeral service for a sorority sister 2 days after my birthday. I had so much to celebrate for these amazing 31 years of life, but couldn't even drink my champagne :(

I had 1 sorority sister that had a brain tumor & had surgery to remove it. She has 5 month old twin girls. She is recovering, but still having some trouble with her eyesight. Thankfully she is at home and resting.

My other sorority sister Katie apparently had a pacemaker put in back in March & nobody knew, she wasn't making a big deal about it. Uhm.....29 years old with a pacemaker is a HUGE deal. Anyways, 2 weeks ago she was at work (She was Burns Hargis's secretary/assistant) and had to be rushed to the ER. Then she was taken to OU in OKC and was there until Sunday. She had coded several times, had a balloon pump put in & lots of tests. One test revealed she had a clot on the right side of her heart and the left side was working at 10%. Unfortunately her heart just couldn't recover, there was no brain activity and she passed away Sunday morning. It's such a tragedy. She & her husband just celebrated their 1 year wedding anniversary at the beginning of August AND we also found at she was 14 weeks pregnant. It's devastating. None of ever thought we would be going to a funeral so soon. However, I am not sure what the "official" number was, but it seemed like 400 people were there. No kidding, it was the largest I have ever been to. She was great. Everyone is in shock & tears. So many emotions.

Also passing away Saturday was my Dad's Aunt Alma. She had been in the ICU (in Plano, TX) for awhile. She had a rough go and even though it's hard to lose somebody, we are all so glad she isn't suffering anymore. Her funeral will be this weekend, so it's a trip back down the Tuner Turnpike for us!

And now you see why I'm ready for September. Cooler temps will hopefully come. And hopefully no more funerals for awhile! And football starts up. Kind of been a downer. However, I am so thankful for all of my family. I love each person (and dog) dearly & I truly cherish all my moments with them. Even if they make me crazy sometimes!
